How to update or change Aadhar Card details online?
To change your Date of Birth :
To change the date of birth, that particular candidate needs to upload date of birth certificate, pan card, voter ID, ration card, and passport.
To change Address :
To change your address, you need to upload voter ID, driving license, passport, ration card, power and water bills, mobile phone bills, bank account statement etc.
To change Mobile number :
To change or correct your mobile number in your Aadhar card you need first to verify your phone number that was listed in the Aadhar card through OTP and then updates it to the new mobile number.
To update your surname :
If you want to update or change your surname in your Aadhar card then you need to upload documents like passport, driving license, ration card etc.
Steps to update/correct details in Aadhar card
- Go to the official site of Aadhar Self Service Resident Update Portal i.e., https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/
update - Enter your 12 digit aadhar number.
- On submission of your 12 digit aadhar number, you will receive OTP to your registered mobile number.
- After entering your OTP a list of options will appear like
Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Address, Mobile Number
- Update or correct your name/address/mobile number and click on next.
- Upload the required documents and check the BPO services available in your area.
- Note down the Update Request Number provided to check your UID status later.
How to update or change Aadhar Card details offline?
If the resident is not able to update or correct his/her details through online then there is another option that will help to correct or update the details. Resident can use the postal service to change/update their details.
You need to send update or correctionrequest to the authority through the post. For that, you first need to download the application form from the official site of Aadhar Self Service Update Portal.
You need to fill in all the details of the form irrespective of the field/for update/correction. Providing mobile number is mandatory for update/change in any of the fields. After filling the form, you need to post it along with the required documents.
