Effects Of Air Pollution On Health
Air pollution produces a large number of bad effects on living and non living . Air pollution can cause health problems in human being . We will now gave the names , sourace and harmful effects of air pollutiants
- Sulphur DioxideSulphur Dioxide is produced by the burning of coal in factories and thermal power plant . Sulphur Dioxide also produce by the burning of petrol and diesel in motor vehivles . Oil refineries also emit Sulphur Dioxide gas into air . Sulphur Dioxide gas i the polluted air causes respiratery problems. Sulphur Dioxide gas in polluted acid rain.
- Nitrogen Oxide
Nitrogen Oxide are produced by the burning of fuels like petrol and diesel in motor vehicles . they are produced by the burning of coal in factories and thermal power plant . Nitrogen Oxide attaack breathing system and lead to lung congestion . They also attack skin . Just like sulphur dioxide smog is dedly air pollution which is formed by the combination of smoke and fog . Smog cause cough and aggravates (make worse) asthma and other lungs dieses, especially in children. - Carbon MonoxideCarbon Monoxide is produced by the incomplete combustion of fules like wood , coal , kerosions , petrol and diesel in home , factories and motor vehicles . The exhausts gases of motor vehicles (cars , buses and trucks etc) contain Carbon Monoxide which they emit into air . Carbon Monoxide combines with the haemoglobin of our blood and reduces the oxygen carrying capacityof blood . Due to this blood is not able to carry sufficient oxygen cause respiratery problem (breathing problem) . It cause suffocation.
- Carbon DioxideCarbon Dioxide is produced in excessive amount by the burning of large quality of fuels . Through Carbon Dioxide on air is consirded a polluted (because it produce undesirable changes in the evirnmonent)
- Chloro-Fluro-Carbons
Chloroflurocarbons are the compounds made of chlorine , fluorine , air conditioning and aerosol sprays . It is responsible for depleating the useful; ozone layer of upper atmosphere . Ozone layer prevents the harmful ultraviolet raditation of the sun from reaching the earth . The destruction of oonelayer by CFCs which allow the extremely harmful ultraviolet raditations of the Sun to reach the earth. These ultra violet radiation can causes skin cancers, contracts and destruction of plants, including crops. - Suspended Particulate MatterSome of the examples of Suspended particles are as follows
1. Dust Consists of tiny particles of Earth wind, heavy traffic on roads, Stone crushers and contruction activities. Dust produces allergic reations in human body and aggravates disease like bronchities.
2. Smoke is mainly tiny particles of Carbon in Air
Smoke is produced by the burning of fuels like wod, cow-dug cakes, coal, kerosin, petrol and diesel in hone, factories, thermol power plant and motor vehicles. Smoke thermol power plant and motor vehicles. Smoke attack our lungs and causes respiratory problem.
3. Fly Ash
The minute ash particles found by the burning of coal and carried into air by the gases produce during burning is called fly ash. It is a particles present in air cause irritation in eyes, nose throat and respitaty attack.
